**Getting started**

### Authentication

You can authenticate this endpoint with either [OAuth 1.0a User Context](/resources/fundamentals/authentication), \[OAuth 2.0 App-Only]\([https://developer.x.com(/resources/fundamentals/authentication#app-only-authentication-and-oauth-2-0-bearer-token)](https://developer.x.com\(/resources/fundamentals/authentication#app-only-authentication-and-oauth-2-0-bearer-token\)), or [OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code with PKCE](resources/fundamentals/authentication#oauth-2-0-authorization-code-flow-with-pkce-2).
 

### Making a request

You can call the Communities Lookup endpoint by providing an ID as shown below (using the ID `1758747817642700922`):

If the request is successful, you should see the JSON response as shown below:

### Community fields

You can fetch additional data associated with a community by specifying Community Fields.

The following Community Fields are available:

| member\_count | integer         | The number of members that have joined the Community.                                                                                                                                                                                                                      |    |

You can call the Communities Lookup endpoint with additional community fields as shown below (using the ID `1758747817642700922`):
